Dr. Brian Perez is a saxophone and woodwind performer, educator, and composer. He is Assistant Professor of saxophone at Texas Southern University where he is director Jazz Ensembles. Brian is an active performer in both jazz and classical idioms, and his latest cd "Blues for the Current Status of Your 401k) will be released in early 2017.
Trumpeter/composer Kevin Woods is quickly emerging as one of the most melodic and emotive voices in improvised music on the west coast. His passion for both performance and education have made him in demand as a leader and a sideman as well as a composer, arranger and clinician. Woods is currently Assistant Professor of Jazz Studies at Western Washington University where he directs the jazz ensembles and teaches a variety of jazz courses.
Dr. Kurtis Adams a native of Nashville, TN is currently Associate Professor of Jazz Studies at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, WV. As a performer, Kurtis performs throughout the greater Washington D.C./Baltimore area and was recently hosted by the University of Maryland Eastern Shore for their "Artist Lecture Series" in spring 2016. Brian Dean was featured on his 1st album "Two Weeks From Tuesday" and was a recent artist-in-residence for the Shepherd University Jazz Camp in summer 2016.
Inspired by the Gypsy/Manouche traditions of Django Reinhardt, Swing Je T'aime is made up of several current and former Colorado residents including Brian Dean. The heart of this group is its fantastic book of songs with an "exclusively for everyone" audience appeal. Their performances include classic favorites, unburied treasures, and quirky originals. Brian has recorded four albums and toured extensively with this ensemble.
